Practice Makes Perfect!

Three weeks of Make-Up school and I've already learned so much! We've started from scratch learning all the basics, all the do's and don'ts, how to properly care for skin, & even how to tweeze and shape eyebrows. We've been practicing very natural make-up and how to enchance your clients natural beauty. Nothing too fancy yet, but you have to start somewhere right? Next week we finally get to do Evening Looks, including smokey eyes (exciting!). 


So far it's been pretty fun, and very interesting. Plus half of the class you're the client sitting there getting your make-up done! I know, hard life right? But someone's gotta do it. Beatuy is pain. Practice makes perfect!

Christmas in September

I just got my Make-Up Supplies Kit! <-- (No exclamation mark can truely express how exciting this is)

After receiving our kits, we analyzed our faces and cleaned them up to make them shiney and new. Next class we jump right in to practicing on our classmates. This does not feel like school at all!

Last night I cleaned, organized and labeled all of my new stuff; and my awesome boyfriend Martin helped me line my kit with protective foam for all of those bumpy rides on transit I am about to embark on.

Make Over

Every couple months, John Casablancas Institute in Vancouver holds a "JCI Mixer". It consists of 1 fashion student, 1 makeup student, and 1 hair student. All 3 students get one model and they create 3 different looks within 5 hours. I was the lucky model! Check out the fun photos:
